The key features of the "One Button" approach are:
Functioanal simplicity - each "One button" program supports only one main function.
User interface simplicity - each "One button" program has extremely simple user interface.
"Batch mode" - each "One button" program supports automatical processing of group of files.
Why the "One Button" approach is actual?
We flounder in the ocean of information. The superfluous information devours memory and poisons our consciousness. The good ideas are often lost in a mass of unnecessary details. Modern software is not an exception. Complicated instructions plunge into despondency, numerous options cause irritation, an attempt to learn something from the infinite chain of "help" documents can to lead to depression.
The "One Button" project is just one simple step in the right direction.
